How to Use

1. Set up the equipment: Place the machine on a flat surface, plug it into a power source (or verify the battery is charged), and firmly attach the sterile suction canister to the machine's holder.
2. Connect the tubing: Attach one end of the short connecting tube to the machine's vacuum inlet and the other end to the "Vacuum" port on the canister lid, then attach the long patient tubing to the "Patient" port.
3. Test the vacuum pressure: Turn the machine on, occlude (block) the end of the patient tubing with your gloved finger, and adjust the pressure dial until the gauge reflects the prescribed suction level.
4. Perform the suctioning: Gently insert the suction catheter or Yankauer tip into the designated area (mouth, nose, or tracheostomy) without applying suction, then apply intermittent suction by covering the thumb control port while withdrawing the catheter in a rotating motion.
5. Clean and shut down: Turn off the machine, disconnect the disposable tubing and canister for proper disposal or sterilization according to infection control guidelines, and wipe down the machine exterior.
